Absolute Ethiopia Tours

1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all bookings, travel arrangements and related services provided by Absolute Ethiopia Tours (“we”, “us”, “our”). By making a booking, you (“you”, “the client”, “traveller”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read them carefully before confirming your reservation.
2. Booking & Payment Terms
2.1 Deposits
A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total tour cost is required at the time of booking. This deposit may be transferred as credit toward a future booking if you wish to postpone your trip.
2.2 Balance Payments
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 45 days prior to departure.
Where certain suppliers require earlier payments or stricter terms, we will notify you at the time of booking.
2.3 Currency
All payments must be made in the currency stated on your invoice.
3. Cancellation Policy
Any cancellation must be submitted to us in writing. Cancellation charges depend on the date we receive your written notice and may also include supplier charges.
3.1 Standard Cancellation Charges
- 45+ days before departure: 30% of the tour cost (deposit)
- 44–30 days before departure: 50% of the tour cost
- 29–15 days before departure: 75% of the tour cost
- 14–0 days before departure: 100% of the tour cost
3.2 No-Show / Early Departure
No refunds or credits will be issued if you:
- Fail to join the tour,
- Join after departure, or
- Leave before completion.
4. Amendments & Pricing
4.1 Amendments by You
Any change requested after confirmation may result in additional charges, including supplier fees.
4.2 Pricing Adjustments
Quoted prices are valid for the specified dates only and may be adjusted due to:
- Changes in fuel prices,
- Government taxes,
- Airfare changes,
- Accommodation or supplier rate increases,
- Currency fluctuations.
5. Child Policy
Child rates may be available on request. Travelers aged 12 years and above are considered adults unless otherwise stated.
6. Insurance Requirement
Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is mandatory for all travellers.
Your policy must include coverage for:
- Trip cancellation or curtailment
- Emergency evacuation and repatriation
- Medical treatment and hospitalisation
- Loss, theft or damage to baggage and personal items
We accept no responsibility for costs incurred due to insufficient insurance coverage. Some service providers may require proof of insurance before services can be rendered.
7. Liability & Responsibility
7.1 General Liability
We are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, delay, or expense arising from:
- Illness, injury, quarantine or death,
- Natural disasters, weather, or environmental conditions,
- War, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes or government restrictions,
- Acts or omissions by third-party suppliers (including negligence),
- Loss or damage to personal property.
7.2 Travel Requirements
You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with:
- Visa and immigration requirements,
- Health and vaccination requirements,
- Customs regulations.
We are not responsible for any consequences resulting from your failure to comply with these requirements.
7.3 Changes to Itineraries
We may, at our discretion, alter or substitute:
- Routes,
- Accommodation,
- Vehicles,
- Meals or activities,
if circumstances make such changes necessary. Suitable alternatives of equal value will be provided wherever possible.
7.4 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for failure to fulfil our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, war, strikes, government actions, epidemics, extreme weather or civil unrest. We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible if such circumstances occur.

8.2 How We Use Your Data
We collect and process personal data to:
- Manage bookings and payments,
- Provide tour services,
- Respond to enquiries,
- Send relevant updates (only with your consent),
- Fulfil legal obligations.
We may create anonymised data for internal business use.
8.3 Third-Party Data
If you provide us with personal data about someone else (e.g., a travel companion), you must ensure you have their permission to share it.
8.4 Your Rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data, except where we are legally required to retain it.
8.5 Data Sharing
We do not sell or trade your personal data.
We only share it with suppliers when necessary to deliver your travel services.
9. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Ethiopia, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.
