Day 2 — Fly to Bahir Dar
Morning flight to Bahir Dar. Boat across Lake Tana to the island monastery of Ura Kidane Mihret, then visit the Blue Nile Falls in the afternoon.

Day 3 — Drive to Gondar
Explore the 17th-century Royal Enclosure, including Fasilidas' Palace and the painted ceiling of Debre Birhan Selassie church.

Day 4 — Simien Mountains day trip
Drive into Simien Mountains National Park for an afternoon walk among Gelada baboons and dramatic escarpment views

Day 5 — Onward to Axum
A full day's drive through the Simien lowlands to reach the ancient city of Axum.

Do I need a visa to visit Ethiopia?
Most nationalities can apply for an Ethiopian e-Visa online before travel, or a visa on arrival at Bole International Airport. We recommend applying for the e-Visa in advance to avoid queues on arrival.
How physically demanding is this tour?
Light to moderate. The Simien Mountains day walk is the most active portion; the rest is sightseeing at a relaxed pace.
Why does this tour use flights instead of driving the whole route?
Flying between Bahir Dar and the north saves roughly two days of overland driving, giving you more time at each destination.
